Puerto Rican Solara

Haven't seen any other Iowa plates on the island!

We shipped my car down here so we wouldn't have to worry about buying one right away. We arrived in PR on a Tuesday and my car arrived that Thursday and was available for pick up Friday. Thank god we could return our expensive rental car early!

In order to pick up my car we had to drive to the port (after we finally found it!) and pay for the cost of shipping ($1000). We then had to go to the Departamento de Hacienda to pay the import taxes on the car ($1700). We arrived at the Hacienda only to be turned away at the door. Why, you ask? Because I had a tank-top and shorts on!!!!! Seriously, you can do almost whatever you want in PR but I guess you can't wear a tank-top and shorts to the Hacienda.

We drove all the way home and changed. We even threw some extra clothing in the car in case we still weren't up to dress code haha.

A lot of this stuff has been very frustrating but we just take it as it comes because we know we will laugh about all of this someday!
