OCTOBER 23, 2009
On October 23, 2009 there was a massive explosion at the Caribbean Petroleum Corp, a fuel storage facility just a few miles from our apartment. We were sleeping when it happened, but other classmates who were not said it felt like an earthquake and they could see flames shooting into the sky from miles away. The fires burned for days a left these massive black clouds covering the outskirts of San Juan. This explosion happened while Matt and Sara were here visiting.
